About Eastern Panhandle Community Events, Inc.

Our Mission

Eastern Panhandle Community Events, Inc. (EPCE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2024, dedicated to raising funds for local charitable organizations across the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. We do this by organizing and operating Community Trees at Lights on the Lake, an annual holiday fundraiser that partners local businesses and the public with local nonprofits: businesses sponsor each tree, and the public casts votes (donations) for their favorites. To date, the program has raised over $50,000 for local nonprofits.

Community Trees at Lights on the Lake

Community Trees at Lights on the Lake unites roughly 30 local nonprofits and community business sponsors each holiday season. Each nonprofit decorates a tree on display at Lights on the Lake (1329 Lakeside Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV), sponsored by a local business for $400–$500. Half of that sponsorship fee is returned to the nonprofit, and the public then casts votes for their favorite trees, with 100% of vote proceeds going directly to the nonprofits as well.
